Biofiba Limited professionally supported by a global licensee network is a company with a dedicated commitment to develop and design products utilising innovative "green" low carbon dioxide emitting manufacturing technology and processes which allows for high volume production of biodegradable, compostable and recyclable packaging products. Raw material inputs sourced from renewable sustainable natural commercially grown crops creating materials that have very significant environmental advantages over materials traditionally made from non renewable fossil fuels and irreplaceable forest timbers.

Current and ongoing technical development is a collaborative research project between Biofiba Limited and the Material Engineering and Science Division of the Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) an eminent and renowned global research and testing laboratory for the development of Biopolymer and Biocomposite products. The Biofiba project is being carried out as part of the CSIRO Future Green Manufacturing Flagship with funding being provided by Australian Federal Government Australian Growth Partnership.

The Biofiba® flag ship product is Biofiba88® which is a world first and the only known simulated extruded biocomposite product of its kind now being used to produce simulated plank sections for the fabrication of Biopallets®, replacing traditional timber and plastic based products. Timber export shipping pallets have a very short single use life span. Now being reported as the new ‘Global Eco Menace’ and are generally regarded as a disposable throw away packaging material wasting a very large percentage of the world’s annual timber consumption. With serious health and pest control problems, used once, sent straight to landfill – a futile waste of precious resources. Alternative pallets made from plastic, polystyrene and composite materials are treated in the same manner but are facing even bigger problems regarding disposal.

Biopallets® made from Biofiba88® are manufactured globally under license by existing pallet manufacturers. Biopallets® will, by design - break down into environmentally, safe, harmless natural products upon disposal.

The global acceptance of the Biopallet® by industry manufacturers, shippers, buyers and end users will dramatically change the world export pallet industry providing viable alternative solutions to the many problems confronting this multi billion dollar global market.
