Mission Statement

Biofiba Limited was established in Australia in 2009 with a focused commitment and the strong belief a sustainable profitable business concept must include environmentally friendly policies as timber and oil (plastics) are declining non renewable natural resources.

The majority of materials currently used in the packing industry, are made from non renewable resources, emit significant carbon dioxide (CO2) pollution during manufacturer, and sent to landfill, incinerated, or recycled after a very short single use life span. Some products can be recycled into materials of lesser quality usually by high cost energy intensive methods. These practices and materials are unsustainable.

Biofiba® identified there is a major need to:

  1. Limit the use of non-renewable materials and replacing them with sustainable renewable organic materials.
  2. Reduce pollution and energy costs from the production of packaging materials.
  3. Packaging materials must have a greater resource potential after their use.
  4. Develop biocomposite materials made from renewable resources that biodegrade in an anaerobic environment have the potential to meet these needs.

The Biofiba Technology® integrates the science of biopolymer organic innovation in a new and unique way and our patent pending technology delivers environmental responsibility, convenience and quality.

The Biofiba® team has decades of experience in the development and the commercialisation of composite materials, transfer of technology, to manufacturer products under license and global marketing. Working with Biofiba® is an eminent expert team of professionals who are leaders in their respective fields.

The team’s main objective is the development of new formulations and processing techniques for cost effective biopolymers and bio composites that perform to industry standards and to promote research and development of biopolymers and composites from agricultural crops.

Our team comprises highly skilled researchers and developers and come from diverse backgrounds including chemistry, material science, agricultural, bio-systems, engineering, natural resource ecology, marketing, management and design.
